Away to the Long Home
I requested prayer for my friend, and long-time site editor, Glenda Hosch Brackeen. To the sadness of countless friends and family, Glenda passed away last Thursday after lingering for more than two weeks in a coma.
We were working together (virtually–she in Texas, I in Indiana) the night before she collapsed. She was so excited about graduation plans for one of their grandchildren, and celebrating her 43rd wedding anniversary with her awesome husband, Joe.
Glenda would often say, "I love that man more than life itself!" He is as precious as she described him, and I hope you'll remember Joe, and all of their loved ones, in prayer.
Her life was a bright testament of God's grace and glory-- full of miraculous and supernatural experiences that are the attributes of a life lived for Christ.
I miss her so much, yet I am endlessly encouraged by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is alive in both of us forever more. Even in grief, especially in grief, He remains an overflowing source of comfort, joy and peace.
Our separation is temporary and I look forward to seeing my friend again. We'll meet up "just inside the Eastern Gate, over there..."
'Til next time,
Shalom
